All these steps are aimed at helping you bring Jesus into your marriage more fully, encouraging you to become more like him, and helping you to serve the person you married. So give it a try. Who knows? You might be pleasantly surprised by the changes you see in yourself and in your home.

These suggested steps are great. But one thing that should be present in a healthy marriage is the “fun” part. Couples must learn to laugh together. Laughter creates the feeling of comfort and bonding at home especially for the children. raalabang

I want to share what I experienced in my marriage. We had been married for 15 years, and everything was “normal”. We have children, we loved and respect each other, and we make the effort to raise our kids with our catholic values. At this point I was feeling something missing in our marriage, and there was distance between my wife and I. I was responsible for the situation and I was hurting the person I loved most in my life.

Then we attended a Marriage Encounter Weekend. What an opening for my eyes. I really felt the Holy Spirit touch my heart that weekend.

Since that weekend I brought the love of our Lord Jesus Christ to my marriage, and what a difference. On the outside, my marriage seems the same, but how different it is with Christ in it with us. Everyday is like a spring day. I am so filled with love from God that I want to love more and more my wife and children. I really feel like dreaming each minute, it is a wonderful feeling. I ask each day that our Lord will help me love my wife as he loves me, I want to love him through my wife and children.

I never felt so exited, and as the article indicates, I choose to love and I don’t expect anything back but to see the loving face of my family. Suddenly helping around the house is not a chore but an enjoyable way to show my love. I wish I could do more every day. I am in love with God and with my wife. I pray that our lord Jesus will always see for the best for my wife and children and I ask him to please use me as his mean to show them his love and to spread the love of God. I wrote a personal prayer for my wife, which I say each morning. My wife is not aware of this, but I know our Lord is smiling to her each time I pray it.

Our Lord Jesus Christ opened my eyes to the real love through the Holly Spirit, it changed me in a way I never thought possible, and blessed was the day I finally opened my eyes and ears to our God’s love.

May god bless you all and may all marriages be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    A very happy husband

wonderful write up, you know, these sounds very interesting and easy, but not quite easy in practice.  i pray for my husband very well, dont holdup anger etc, but when it comes to these practical aspects of love, kissing eveytime, sending love notes, hugs, holding hands etc, infact its very difficult for me, to initiate. unfortunately he doesnt. and i would like to, because when i see how some wives hungs and kiss their husbands outside home, i feel as if am not loved. i have a problem of shyness even with my husband. this is area am stuck in my marriage.- practical expression. please for me to break the huddle. thank you.
