Before you begin reading this article, look around you. Look outside at God's beautiful creation. Think about the sun and the sky, the flowers and the trees, the mountains and the oceans, and remember: "God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very good" (Genesis 1:31).
This is how God still views his creation. Every part of our natural world pleases him and brings him great joy. And nothing pleases him more than the crown of his creation—that is, man and woman.
Of all the beauties and glories in this world, humanity stands apart because we have been created in God’s own image and likeness. Given the gift of free will, we have the privilege of choosing to honor God and of choosing to become more like him every day. We also have the privilege of choosing one another as husband and wife, the privilege of sharing love with each other in a way that reflects Jesus’ love for his people.

My husband and I are celebrating our 35 th year of marriage. We will be attending a WW Marriage Encouter weekend this month. The Word Among Us is devoting this issue to marriage so I think that my prayers for a better marriage are being answered. We would not have come this far if it had not been for our awakening to Christ in our lives through Christ Renews His Parish.
