Dear Prison Chaplain,

Partners in Evangelism wants you to know that we wish to support you in your ministry to our brothers and sisters in prisons by praying both for you and for those to whom you minister, as well as providing free spiritual materials. We truly want to respond to Jesus' words, "I was in prison and you visited me" (Matthew 25:36).

In the last five years, thanks to the generous donations of many of our readers we have been able to expand our ministry. Partners is now sending copies of The Word Among Us each month (either in English or Spanish), to 45,000 Catholic prisoners. We are also making available other free materials to chaplains, such as God Alone: Stories or the Power of Faith, Promises in Scripture and a pamphlet specifically written for prisoners entitled, God Forgives, Can I? (Also available in Spanish)

Through speaking with many of you, I have become keenly aware of your many needs, not only for Catholic materials, such as the daily devotional, The Word Among Us, but also for volunteers committed to helping you with weekly Eucharistic services, RCIA, sacramental preparation, Bible studies and other programs. It is these needs that we make known to our readers through our quarterly newsletter, The Partners Report.

How can you receive help from Partners? I invite you to contact me by phone or e-mail! If you are not already receiving The Word Among Us for your institution, we would be happy to add you to our waiting list. As soon as funds become available we will begin to send copies to you.
