This Sunday marks UNESCO’s International Day of Tolerance. The goal of this day is that we would “live together in peace with one another as good neighbors.” So in that spirit we offer a Scripture-based reflection on reaching out to our brothers and sisters in need. This Tuesday is the feast of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, a French missionary who brought the faith to North America in the early 1800’s. Below you’ll find a brief account of her life. This Friday is the Feast of the Presentation of Mary, and we honor her with an article on Mary as our mother and our model of faith. As always, please share your thoughts with us and the others in our Word Among Us community.

As young Philippine listened to Father Jean-Baptist Aubert, a new desire began to burn in her heart: to be a missionary among the Native Americans. Continue »
